Good Calories, Bad Calories is a powerhouse of a book about the literature and research on nutrition and obesity. Casual readers will likely find it too dense to appreciate, but for those who really want to understand the science, this is a must read. It does a very convincing job of debunking the conventional wisdom on nutrition by explaining not just the results of studies, but also explaining the methods and interpreting the results. Even the experiments supporting the conventional wisdom are presented and their failures are thoroughly explained. This book deserves a Nobel prize for its contribution to the organization of the confused research results.
